Abandoned Surgical Procedures (30001)
In some cases Medicare allows providers to make a claim when a procedure is abandoned for medical or other purposes.
For the surgeon, this is Item 30001. This is a derived item calculated at 50% of the fee which would have applied had the procedure not been discontinued. Enter the original surgical items and the 30001 item. Cutting Edge will calculate the fee for the 30001 item and set the others to $0.
For the assistant, the normal rules for the assistant surgeon apply to the discounted surgeon's fee.
Enter the surgical items as usual then the 30001 item. Cutting Edge will calculate the the assistant item and fee based on the rules above, and set the service text
