How to add a web app to your smartphone home screen

Adding a shortcut to the CESoft companion on your home screen will give better experience, assisting you to open the application quickly, while removing some of the unnecessary browser elements.

iPhone

  1. Open Safari and go to the web page you want to add. (This works best in Safari — Chrome and other browsers on iOS also support it now, but Safari is the most reliable.)
  2. Tap the Share button — the square with an arrow pointing up, at the bottom centre of the screen (or top right on iPad).

  3. Scroll down the share sheet and tap Add to Home Screen. If you don't see it, scroll further down — it's in the list of actions, not the row of app icons.

  4. You'll see a preview with the page's icon and name. Edit the name if you like (shorter names display better under the icon).

  5. Tap Add in the top right corner.
You'll now have an icon on your home screen that you can tap to go straight to the web app:
Plus when tapping the icon, it opens as a Web App, which means you get to use more of your phone's screen by hiding the nav bar at the bottom.

Android

Chrome

  1. Open Chrome and go to the web page.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner.
  3. Tap Install app (on some versions this appears as Add to Home screen → Install).

  4. A prompt will appear showing the app's name and icon — tap Install to confirm.

  5. Once installed, the icon is added to your home screen automatically. It also appears in your app drawer alongside your regular apps.

Because this installs the site as a PWA (Progressive Web App) rather than a simple shortcut, tapping the icon opens it full-screen without Chrome's address bar or browser interface — it looks and behaves like a native app, and you can even manage it from Settings → Apps like any other app.

Samsung Internet

  1. Open the page, tap the hamburger menu (three lines) in the bottom right.

  2. Tap Add page to, then choose Home screen.

Firefox

  1. Open the page, tap the three-dot menu.
  2. Tap Add to Home screen, then confirm.
