CV081 & CV082

CV081 & CV082

CV081 and CV082 in the RVG are not exactly equivalent to 22041 in MBS, they vary in description and units.

ASA description for CV081 is MAJOR NERVE BLOCK (proximal to the elbow or knee), including intercostal nerve block(s) or plexus block (specify type) to provide post-operative pain relief (4 units)

ASA description for CV082 is MINOR NERVE BLOCK (specify type) to provide post-operative pain management (this does not include subcutaneous infiltration) (2 units)

MBS description for 22041 is Perioperative introduction of a plexus or nerve block proximal to the lower leg or forearm for post operative pain management (2 units)

22041 aligns with CV082 for number of units so CE uses this one by default However 22041 can apply to both CV081 and CV082.

If you use the RVG menu you get the ASA description
If you enter CV082 it looks for the MBS equivalent and uses that
