Cutting Edge Software is developing a function for prechecking a patient's eligibility to claim items and procedures with their health funds.
This can allow users to query the health funds and Medicare to see the expected rebates for the items on the invoice.
There is variance in the responses between health funds as each health fund is developing their own system of responses and codes. Some health funds do not yet have OEC implemented and you will receive a null response from them when you attempt to use the OEC function.
When looking for the presenting illness code, users can just search for a specific presenting illness by typing in the code or a part of the text in the description, instead of scrolling through the entire list each time.
When entering the presenting illness code, ensure that you're using a code within the relevant range (surgical items, etc).
